Fatburner Fitness is a self-paced course designed to develop and maintain the five health-related components of fitness—muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. The primary training activity will be the Aerobic Super Circuit (weight-lifting machines alternating with cardiovascular exercise) to help you achieve a higher level of fitness and overall health. Since all equipment is adjustable, any fitness level can be accommodated.  Please wear comfortable workout attire and shoes.  Bring a towel and water bottle.

Originating in China hundreds of years ago, Tai Chi Ch’uan is a gentle, moving meditation that conditions the body and mind, leading to a heightened sense of well-being. In this course, you’ll begin learning the Tai Chi “form,” comprised of poetically-named movements that strengthen muscles and bones, improve circulation and the functioning of internal organs. Relieve stress, and improve your focus and concentration. All courses are suited to both beginning and continuing students. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Muay Thai or Thai Boxing is the national sport of Thailand and a great workout. Thanks to our collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate General, Los Angeles, you can explore Thai Boxing for just $49! Learn the Art of Eight Limbs – which includes the use of fists, knees, elbows and feet – as well as basic footwork, offense, defense, and strategy. This safe, non-competitive, no-contact class will be taught by the professional staff of Muay Thai America Gym. Open to men, women, and minors 14-17 with parental signature. Be prepared for intensity!  *All equipment provided except boxing gloves, which will be discussed at first class meeting.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian movement combining dance, martial arts, music, acrobatics, and self-defense—and a great workout! This Warrior Dance will help you develop balance and flexibility while increasing your coordination and endurance. Class opens with warm ups, stretches, and basic movements and then moves to combinations and drills. In the last part of class, you’ll practice with music and instruments in a communal setting within a circle of players or “rodas.” Wear basic workout clothes (sweats and a white t-shirt)—fitted or tucked in shirts, no shorts, finger and toenails clipped, hair tied back, and jewelry removed.
