Learn or Improve your English at West Los Angeles College in our Intensive English Academy, West Language Academy (WestLA)! NO TOEFL OR IELTS SCORE NEEDED! If you want to study in the United States but first need to learn or improve your English skills, then the WestLA intensive English Language Academy is for you! The WestLA offers 20 hours of English instruction per week so you can quickly learn and improve your oral and written English communication skills. The academy will provide useful strategies and tips to help you pass the TOEFL or an equivalent English proficiency test, to begin college credit studies at WEST! The WestLA is also open to individuals in Southern California who want to improve their English skills. The WestLA will let you discover all that Los Angeles has to offer where you will explore and experience the landmarks in this dynamic city! What Makes WestLA Special? We believe that you can learn English better and faster by experiencing what you are learning. We have structured our program to provide real-life experiences for you. Incorporating: •The latest technologies and innovative teaching to strengthen your learning experience. •Weekly themes to make the instruction more relevant and engaging. •Opportunities for interactive language learning – observing credit classes and interviewing classmaters or faculty staff on campus. •Interactive lectures and class activities. •Learning activities outside the classroom! At WestLA, we will take you out of the classroom to experience first-hand the culture of Los Angeles, California and the U.S. Within each session, WestLA offers 4 levels of English classes, ranging from beginner speaking and writing abilities to more advanced academic proficiency. Classes are limited to 15 students maximum per class.   You will experience innovative language instruction by professional English language professors. Topics include conversation and prenunciation, speaking and presentation, vocabulary building, reading and idioms, writing, listening and notetaking, grammar, and English proficiency test preparation. Get to Know Los Angeles You will get to know all that Los Angeles has to offer when you join WestLA!
