Nothing says summer like a sing-along on the back porch, or around the campfire – and a harmonica is an awesome addition. No experience is necessary for this class that will introduce you to breathing as the foundation for invigorating simple folk and pop melodies and rhythms. You’ll learn simple - but powerful - techniques that make any song deeply expressive. Then you’ll find out about the many tricks for making the harmonica cry, moan and “wail da' Blues.” You will need a 10 hole diatonic Harmonica in the Key of C. Questions about harmonica? Smartphones have become the go-to device for capturing and sharing the important moments in our lives through photography. Let Roberto show you how to take better photos with your phone that will delight you and others. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the technical aspects of getting great photos from your phone as well as delving into the creative side of photography. Roberto will also introduce you to hardware that can improve your pictures, apps for touching up your photos, and sharing your pictures to Facebook and other social media sites. With smartphone in hand, you'll put the techniques you’ve learned into practice on an excursion to a beautiful Los Angeles locale like Santa Monica or the Getty Center. Mat Pilates

A system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body, Pilates activates the "powerhouse" muscles and conscious breathing to strengthen, lengthen, and tone the abdomen, pelvic cavity, lower back, glutes, hips, and thighs. Learn how to use concentrated movements of your arms and legs to create long, lean muscles and improve your body's alignment, enhance your balance, and increase muscular control. Therapeutically based, Pilates is ideal for rehabilitating selected injuries. Bring a yoga or Pilates mat, as well as a Pilates ball (click on "Class Supplies" tab in left menu for details). Also bring a theraband if you have one.
