CourseGraphic Joining a labor union can result in huge benefits for those interested in the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) trades.  To join the Electrical Union, you will need to pass an entrance exam and an oral interview.  A requirement for taking the exam is either providing high school or college transcripts showing you passed Algebra, with a grade of “C” or better, or passing an equivalent prerequisite Algebra class.  Our Construction Technical Math class satisfies the Algebra prerequisite for the Electrical Union and prepares you to take the entrance exam and oral interview.
You'll learn the Algebraic concepts and reading skills for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) construction trade apprenticeship programs.  Classroom instruction will focus on Math skills that are used in the MEP trades, using relevant, real-world examples from the MEP trades to improve your understanding of the concepts.  You'll improve your reading comprehension and mechanical reasoning, and get assistance with the MEP trade apprenticeship program application.  Successful participants will receive the Local Union 11, ETI and NECA Certificate of Completion for Algebra Prerequisite upon completion of the program.
