Twisted Wire & Gemstone “Tree of Life” Sculpture

ID : 41903
« back to classes page

Symbolic in many cultures, the “tree of life” is the inspiration for this class project. These magical little sculptures bloom and grow out of copper, gold or silver wire along with gemstone and glass beads that make them sparkle and shine. Each tree stands approximately 6-7 inches tall. First, you’ll learn how to skillfully twist the beads onto the wire creating the leaves and branches. Then, you’ll master the technique of artfully combining your branches to build the trunk. Next, instruction will be given on how to achieve that “realistic touch” to make it look as it would in nature. Finally, you’ll “plant” your precious tree in a complementary small vessel like a candle holder or planter filled with stones and pebbles. Optional: you can bring a small candle holder or planter not more than 3”x3”, although several will be available in class. All other materials will be provided including the wire, beads, stones, and vessels. This is a beginner level class. View project photos at *$7 material fee due at registration.
