Art anyone can make. You won’t believe your eyes!

Even if you don’t think you have artistic talent, you’ll make beautiful art that can be clothes, handbags, jewelry, pillows, table cloths, upholstery, lamp shades, book illustrations, wrapping paper, and more! Fabric is very forgiving and textile art can be done easily in the kitchen or on the balcony because it dries fast. Even if the result is a surprise, it will be beautiful—and the process can be very therapeutic. Plus some of RoseMary’s students began selling their work almost immediately using RoseMary’s tips.

Shibori is the old Japanese term and technique for dyeing white fabric. This class will look at different shibori pieces and also at pieces tie-dyed other ways, since cultures and countries use various methods. Students will practice techniques on small silk pieces and then create a large scarf with the knowledge obtained. The beautiful results will create constant “wow"s in class and wow your family and friends as well. Please dress in clothes you can get dye on or bring an apron. For class supply list, please click on Class Supplies link in the menu on the left. *$20 material fee, due at registration, for silk scarves and dye supplies.

Imagine a silk scarf, pillow, or handbag that YOU designed!
